Loved working with this family from the first time I met them at an open house I was having for a listing in Happy Valley, OR. At the time I met them, they were not 100% sold on working with an agent but after months of patience and persistence I got the phone call letting me know they were ready!
We first had to secure their dream home first and unfortunately we had only a few hours to submit an offer against multiple others. Luckily, we won out all other offers after some advise and strategy! Once this family was settled, it was time to get their other home ready to sell!
The home originally built in 1997, was needing lots of updates and minor repairs throughout as it was well loved and lived in with two adorable kiddos. We made a plan and budget for the important updates/repairs and I arranged for a general contractor to come in and do the work ahead of time and get paid through escrow at closing (a huge relief to my client who just purchased a new home).
The work was completed in a couple of weeks including new painted kitchen cabinets, exterior shutter painting, interior paint, new light fixtures, backsplash and window treatments! I had the property professionally staged on my dime as I do with all my listings and we prepared to hit the market!
After the first weekend we had multiple offers and 30+ groups through 2 open houses making this listing one the most active at the time. We had accepted an offer and within a couple of days the buyer had to pull out (nothing to do with the home), we then went back to market and accepted an offer the next day for thousands higher than the first one! It was such a pleasant surprise for my clients and they were blown away we sold for $46,000 over our asking with “as is” terms.
